I bought this book for my kids and nephew as Christmas gifts. My son who all but hates to read pulled this book from his shelf in his room at first because he noticed his sister had the same book. Later he brought it to me and we sat and read it where he asked questions about the meaning of words, noticed similarities in the characters, even tried reading with me. The next day right before bed I caught him flipping through the pages on his own. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am for him to start showing interest in reading I guess he just needed a book that was a reflection of him!

This book is absolutely amazing!! I am so glad I was able to find a book for my children that actually shows a reflection of themselves. This book has now become my 4 year olds favorite bed time story. The illustrations are incredible and the book teaches young black and brown little boys and girls that they too can be great! I definitely recommend this book to anyone with children.

This is a great book to be included in your child's first reader series. It could and should be read time and time again and committed to memory to inspire and bolster your child's self-esteem. It is easy to read and beautiful to view.

This book has one page for every Data Scientific topic, each of which could take a book of its own. It is too short even for a review, not speaking about a textbook. Absolutely useless.

I am happy to have my book. The content is clear and rich. However on the delivery of my new book, some of the pages were crinkled.

Good fundamentals to understand how to code and play with tensors and python for Deep Learning

Had high expectations but the book totally ruined them. The book does not covers concepts which you might already know. Finally I had no idea whether this book is intended to teach more of tensorflow concepts or deep learning paradigms. In my opinion it failed to do both. The book starts of well explaining the core concepts of Tensorflow. But as you go into individual chapters for sequential processing or vision, they just shared the code and did a very poor job in explaining the Tensorflow Api. It is equivalent to seeing some code on github and try learning yourself using google.Since I already understand the core concepts like sessions/graphs this book is of no use to me. The worst part is that the code samples are the most basic you could get. For text processing they took Tensorflow.org tutorial and diluted it so much there is hardly anything to learn on text processing side.Essentially this book = basic concepts (which most people already know) + aggregation of github codes for each subject ( which are too basic and you can easily find much much better repositories online).The worst part is even the code samples are buggy. Even the basic linear regression code is wrong and does not optimise unless you change that. In my opinion the text processing code is wrong too, but I'm not too sure of it.

As a practicing software engineer interested in building my ML skills, I thought this was an excellent overview of modern machine learning and introduction to TensorFlow. The authors struck a nice balance between building your intuition for the theory behind different machine learning techniques and guiding you through sample TensorFlow code that implemented them. I appreciated that the chapters were motivated with real world examples, and I liked that some of the examples (e.g. DeepChem) were outside of the canonical machine learning problems you hear about in every other machine learning book / tutorial.In terms of the TensorFlow material, the book essentially starts from scratch by introducing TF primitives, and then walks you through increasingly complex applications from simple regressions to reinforcement learning. The code samples are digestible and well explained, and the accompanying GitHub repo is really helpful for taking a deep dive into the material. Throughout, the authors give helpful tips and tricks for practicing deep learning in the wild. At points I wish the book had gone slightly more in depth (with some of the more complicated material, as well as for things like preprocessing), but I liked that so much material was condensed into a relatively quick read.Highly recommended to anyone looking to level up with TensorFlow.

Overall, this is pretty okay. It's a decent introduction, although it could benefit from a deeper dive and more detail in the "hands-on" stuff.Compared to Learning TensorFlow by Hope, Resheff & Leider, I felt that this had a bit more depth and a bit more clarity (although I would have liked a bit more still).Like others, I found this to be a bit too focused on statistical chemistry, but it didn't really impede the value of the book, and I was able to learn some new things from it.

TensorFlow for Deep Learning by Ramsundar and Zadeh is 230 pages of great machine learning content that should compliment any data science library. If I had to complain, my largest gripe would be the strong bias toward the mathematical details of tensor calculus. Not that math is undesirable, but with only 230 pages to spare I felt that equations were often thrown out without adequate explanation.The introduction also comes on a little strong. The first chapter is named “Machine Learning Eats Computer Science”. Perhaps a better title would be “Deep Learning Hype at Full Throttle”. But let’s be real, deep learning is a subset of computer science – very useful for certain tasks and useless for others. The text would have you believe that deep learning is some new alien technology that is not related to algorithmic approaches at all.But this book has it where it counts. The structure of the chapters is laid out in a very intuitive manner that demonstrates that these authors know exactly what they are talking about and are eager to share the knowledge. First, Tensorflow primitive are introduced, next linear regression is explored, then on to fully connected deep networks. The fun really begins next with hyperparameter optimization, convolutional neural networks, recurrent neural networks, reinforced learning, and finally training. Relevant topics, logistically ordered, and adequately explained.It’s not a perfect book, however. Some of the diagrams and graphs have descriptions that refer to colors, yet all the images printed in the book are black and white. This makes some figures very difficult to interpret.The ending chapter on ethics also shares a lot in common with the hyped-up introduction – for example, dramatic fretting over sentient war terminators and suggesting quitting your job over questionable learning applications is a little much. In truth, governments leveraging technology to suppress freedom should be our concern – and this has been true for all time and all technologies. Enforceable checks and balances of a structured government have always been the best defense, not quitting a job… but I digress.Overall a very worthy addition to a data science library. You’ll probably want to have at least an introductory grasp on the Tensorflow and deep learning before reading this book, but it’s a great next step. Highly recommended.

Nice photos and overall fine writing style, in a British style and from a British persepctive. The author has an obvious bias toward 'sporting' cars, which makes me wonder about his being chosen to author this book about big, ultra-luxury cars. If you are a fan of the W140 (1991-99 US S-Class) he is unduely harsh of these large cars, which outside of tiny Europe fit the roads just fine, and many innovations are missed. There is some 'cut and paste' of text between similar models, which is lazy writing... but for a Benz fan, it's a good book.

This book is a great resource for Mercedes owners of S Class.. It gives information such as number of car in production during a certain year and it gives history on the manufacturing of the vehicle. I highly recommend this book.

This book tells you everything you wanted to know about these great cars. If there is a fault it is that it is perhaps to tied to Mercedes public relations and does not give complete assessments of the various generations how they related to the competition in the day. Also does not have enough interviews where frank assessments of what went right and wrong in the design of the cars by the actual designers.

It exceeded my expectations in both contant and quality of the book service was a little slow 15 days from east coast.

Great place to start in developing one's understanding of technology in Christian worship. I oversee a worship ministry in a medium-sized church. As we continue to grow, it's important for me to develop a foundational understanding of how to utilize technology and mobilize my tech teams. The book is clearly written and provides material that is accessible for those just beginning to learn about sound in a worship venue. Worth the purchase, for sure.

Nice resource for someone trying to gain basic knowledge / understanding about contemporary worship equipment. I found it quite helpful as a "do-it-yourself" small church pastor who does not have sound personnel. It is up-to-date as well. I recommend it.

I am a biblical counseling major and this is a required book for me to read. I had no idea what I was going to learn, but I learned a lot. It is for sure a text book. I got it on my kindle, so I can imagine what the hard copy is like. It is very detailed which is good, but since I am not into lighting and sound and that is not my field, it took me awhile to get it through. very tedious. For someone who is interested and wants to know a lot about this field and wants to know every detail, this would be the book to read.

Very practical tips, tricks, and help with trouble shooting your sound system. As a very much beginner in the sound and tech era, this book saved my life.

If you are trying to set up systems for sound, lighting or video this is a great resource. It's written lightly and not like a traditional tech manual so getting the information you need is not a boring endeavor. "fire is bad." indeed

Her design business, Prose and Letters, has fulfilled calligraphy commissions for weddings, corporations, institutions, and individuals since 1982. She also maintains a website as an online portfolio and catalog of her cards, prints, books, and wedding certificates. Her calligraphic manuscript books are collected by individuals and libraries around the country. Her work has been featured in the magazines Victoria, Letter Arts Review, and Somerset Studio; the Calligrapher's Engagement Calendar; and several wedding books. Cari makes her home in Northern California.The late Eugene Metcalf's natural talent in various art fields established him as a top calligrapher and designer. With a specialty in lettering design, Metcalf created logos for a variety of commercial applications. Of his more than 30 years in the commercial art industry, almost half of them were spent as art director and top designer for major outdoor advertising companies in the Los Angeles area.The late Arthur Newhall had a unique and varied background in the lettering and graphic design fields. A guide for materials, how to write in various styles, and how to create calligraphy and lettering projects with numerous tricks of the trade and tidbits of artistic advice along the way.I taught myself calligraphy and lettering with a very simple book that came in a calligraphy pen set decades ago. I’ve played around with it ever since. But this book included loads of information about calligraphy pens, inks, and tricks of the trade I never learned from that simple book. If you want one book that will give you a good overview of just about every aspect of calligraphy and lettering, this is a fantastic pick. I haven’t done a calligraphy project in quite a while but this makes me want to do one. The creators break things down in very easy to understand language, but obviously know their stuff. Highly recommended for anyone interested in beginning or improving their skills and knowledge.I received an ARC of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A wonderful, hands-on with practice sheets step by step how to book! Learn how to write Calligraphy & Lettering!

TL:DR;+ Great reference material for creatives and designers+ Nice design, easy to read and understand with pics and step by step instructions+ Comprehensive guide to traditional calligraphy (nib pens, illuminated letters, basic scripts, etc) and modern lettering (with emphasis on how to design/illustrate with letters and one chapter about chalk lettering)+ More info than typical "basic guide to" with useful tips and comments- Not really a minus but consider that it doesn't have many projects (not your weekend "do something pretty in 3 steps" kind of book)--------------------------------------------- The book is divided into 3 parts, first one is traditional and contemporary calligraphy, which includes all the basics plus plenty of tips, examples, different approaches and lots of alphabets. Then it moves into modern hand lettering. Lettering illustrations and chalk lettering are the main focus and, must say, this is one of the best books I've seen that makes it approachable for beginners without skimming off important information. The third and last part "creative lettering projects" is quite short, but the projects are really nice and you get even more tips from them. My favorite is the "personalized journal cover".This is indeed a complete guide to old and new techniques, with clear explanations, step by step instructions and color images to get you inspired and ready to give it a try. What I liked the most about this book is that it goes beyond general explanations; it deepens on those aspects that need extra consideration for newbies yet keeps things simple and relevant. There wasn't a single moment I felt overwhelmed by the content. Totally recommend it. *I received this eARC so that I could give my honest opinion.
