It's a pretty good book with some really nice looking jewelry to make. BUT the typos and just plain errors are so numerous that it makes it a pain to try to follow the patterns. I've bough many, many pattern books for several different arts and crafts - and I usually find an error or two or even three. This book has more than several and I've only read the first 6 or 8 patterns. Page 14 - the directions for an overhand knot - the second picture is wrong both strands in the picture should be tied not just the one with the other passing straight through. Page 32 - directions call for 2"of half square knots between the tandem and the center 'oval bead' The photograph shows about an inch between those two sets of beads, and the center bead is tapered to one end not oval. I'm pretty good at reading patterns, and it's not a bad book, but I'm really glad it wasn't the first book I got on knotting hemp for jewelry.I would have been lost. If you're good at figuring out what you are supposed to be doing, it is a good book.

I really like this book, there are instructions at the beginning that tell you how to make the knots, and do the weaving for certain projects. Being a visual learner I'll watch a few YouTube videos before I begin. I have a list of chokers and anklets that I want to make, but one thing I found interesting - and the reason for the 4 stars - is that some of the necklaces/chokers are shorter than 12" long. One in particular quotes a "finished length of 13-1/2" from back of neck to bottom of pouch", now the pouch looks to be at least 2-3" at it's longest point - making the true length that goes around your neck about 10-11." I'm average size and do not have a large neck but if I tried wearing that (or a couple others that I really like) it would give a new meaning to the word "choker." So I'll have to go through the instructions and work out a way to increase the length evenly on both sides. On a couple of the chokers they do tell you how to, but on others - the ones with the more elaborate patterns, they do not. I know I'll be able to work it out but it adds a level of frustration, at least initially, for the pieces that I plan to make.

This was a well received gift. My Son loved & uses it often. He is going to go into business for himself soon. It is easy to follow too.

I love this book! The directions are detailed and the pics are very nice. I am a beginner at making jewelry and working with hemp and beads so this was a great purchase for me.

Okay for beginners, but there are a lot of details missing.

This book has everything I have been looking for. I did macrame in the 70's and needed some reminders for the various knots. Also, my husband wanted to learn and this book has been great for that...he can follow the instructions without a lot of input from me.

This book is great!! It is easy to follow and I love the example pictures. It has so much information in it including hemp history. I love this book. :) It is band new and in perfect condition which makes me happy because I hate damaged books. It is going to look wonderful on my book case when I am not using it.
