About the Author

Philip Permutt (www.thecrystalhealer.co.uk) is the author of several books, including The Little Pocket Book of Crystal Tips & Cures, The Little Pocket Book of Crystal Chakra Healing, The Complete Guide to Crystal Chakra Healing, and The Crystal Tarot, all published by CICO Books. He also writes a regular magazine column for Fate & Fortune magazine, as well as contributing to other magazines. Philip discovered crystals almost 25 years ago, after a severe illness, and has been practicing as a crystal healer and teacher ever since. I'm so happy I bought this book! Not only are there plenty of pictures of each stone but it's broken down by COLOR! So if you are like me and don't know much about stones....that alone is a huge help identifying stones. Also, in the back of the book are three separate areas that are broken down by 1)physical issues 2) emotional issues and 3) spiritual issues....very smart way of setting up a book IMO. You look up the problem you're having....and it tells you what stones help! Like if said...very smart layout.

Exactly what I'd hoped for. Clearly organized, lots of info, engaging photos and graphics. Everyone interested in learning more about crystals should own this book. I've read through it many times. There are other books with more detail/crystals, but this is more than enough for most of us. User-friendly!

I bought several crystal books through the years, but when I started into my crystal journey back in the early 90's, there weren't many books available. That changed within the last decade. Now there are plenty of books on the subject, and along with that, some fluffy, useless ones. So, I spent some time looking around for books on Crystal Healing that would actually be useful and, for me, that meant less fluff, more concise, to the point information, and good stone coverage. I read many reviews on Amazon and other sites and researched many of the books until I found ones I felt might fit the bill. Enter 'The Crystal Healer' book. After my search, I ended with about 10 books on my list and from that, settled for two, this one being one of them. When the books arrived, I saw pretty quickly that 'The Crystal Healer' was a great book. The more I delved into it, the more I liked it. I have to say this book quickly rose to the top 10 of the ones I own on Crystal healing. I also bought some organizers to keep my crystals in, since I own many and through the years (and some moves) have lost some of the labels identifying some of the stones. As I organized my collection, this book was great at quickly helping me identify a handful of the crystals I had, which had lost their labels. It would be safe for me to say that I now LOVE this book and will look for other books from this author.

Best Crystal book I have seen. I own about 10 crystal books and this is exactly what I have been searching for. I like how the crystals are listed by color. I had about 25 stones I was trying to identify and this helped. Best part of the book is the Crystal remedies. I truly believe in crystal healing and this has become my bible.

I am so obsessed with this book, one of the best ones out there.Has great directory, you'll always find exactly what you're looking for every time.Explains the crystals so clearly and sections them by color, which is great for newbies just looking up crystals to see what they are just by knowing the color.In the back, it tells you which crystals are for your health/mental problems.For example, my mom has cancer and in the back it shows me different crystals i can use for cancer healing properties.Love this book and it's a great price. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Absolutely love this book. Permutt separates the stones by color for easy identification, and gives lots of tips on how to care for and clean your healing stones. This book has a wealth of information. Only thing missing is mineral composition of the gemstones. I liked to know that, but I love the book.

I am a Crystal Therapist, so I love to find books that talk about crystals, give detailed descriptions, uses, and other information about them. (I love crystals and stones in general, so another reason why I love finding great books on them)I have several crystal books and I have to say I am most happy I found this book! I ordered it, along with the new edition of The Book Of Stones and have absolutely fell in love. For the size of this book it has a great amount of information, uses, and pictures of crystals and stones.I am very pleased about the pictures; the pictures are somewhat small, but they are nice up-close and clear shots. There is not an example of both the natural and polished stones for each one, but the picture quality is excellent.The book also talks about choosing a pendulum, cleansing stones/crystals, choosing the stones/crystals, and several other topics.Chaper 4 is what I say is one of the best features about this book. It talks about crystal remedies; first it lists different physical ailments and the stones/crystals that would be helpful. Next is remedies for emotional ailments, examples of them and stones/crystals that would be helpful to them. Last there is a section for spiritual enhancement; it lists examples and what stones/crystals would be most helpful to you in regards to it.Out of the other crystal books I have that list remedies, I really love how this book was formatted. Having an entire chapter deticated to various remedies is fantastic. It was easy to read though and also just as easy to find what I was looking for.I really recommend this book and I honestly wish I had found it a lot sooner. If I had found this book right away, I have about two or three other crystal books I wouldn't have purchased!

I teach crystal healing and have for over 20 years, so I am pretty critical when I find a book on the subject. This book however is fantastic and worth every penny you spend on it. The author is very easy to follow and skilled, and it comes through in his writing. The joy of crystal healing that he has comes through in this work. I highly recommend you purchase this book if you are seeking a text on the subject.

ANY FIRST YEAR LAW STUDENT NEEDS TO BUY THIS BOOK!Unless you were born a contract genius, contract law can be the most confusing course in the first year of law school. This book lays contract law out in a way that a child could probably understand and personally I appreciate that. Law school is full of dense reading with archaic language but this guide first breaks it down into plain, simple language, secondly, it breaks specific areas of contract law into "checklists" that you can run through when you are preparing to answer an exam question, lastly, it helps to showcase where exactly a specific topic fits into contract law as a whole. Seeing the big picture in law is so crucial to your analysis! This book is a game-changer.

Well, unless you have an unfortunate event of having the author as your contracts professor in Touro Law, where in my personal opinion, she doesn't teach anything but cite this book as a bible when she deviates from the main subject - telling stories about her family and her shopping experience at Bloomingdale's, or else - this book is completely useless.

This is a great supplement for the 1L year. All of the "Acing" books are well written, concise, and matter of fact. The entire series follows along with the general curriculum of classes (keep in mind that every professor teaches in the order he/she feels is best). This Contracts edition is no exception, it is not exact to the book my professor teaches, but it is a solid supplement to the themes and material taught in the course.

I found this book sort of jammed together sections of jargon and statements. Some parts are OK . I preferred Contract Law for Dummies to be much better and laid out sequentially. It tries to cut to the chase but doesn't. Contract Law for Dummies, E&E on contracts and Emanuel Outline breakdrown does a much better job, IMO,This book was short , but not straight to the point and sort of jumbled together. Acing Civ Pro is laid out much better.

Book was great at giving an alternative view of contracts and a great review for what I'd learned earlier in the year.

The book is just ok.

This book is an easy read and if you pay attention it tells you exactly how things should be written. If you are taking contracts this book makes things easier. All you have to do is make sure you follow your elements. Smile..

The Acing series is the best commercial outline in the law school outline world. The checklists will save you time and are honestly better than whatever you can do on your own

Cassandra Clare is a gifted writer and has created a fun universe with her shadowhunters series. I cannot fault her writing skills or story telling ability.In this final book, there is a good payoff for previous readers with characters from the earlier series playing seminal roles. However, it seems to come at a sacrifice of newer characters who were created for the dark artifices series. For example, the titular Lady of Air and Darkness is hardly featured.A number of the new characters are heavily built up as important then sidelined and hastily packed away, probably in the hopes of generating enough interest to score another 3-book deal with the publishers. Or perhaps the writer wrote herself into a hole and couldn't be bothered to resolve their storylines.I'm really irritated that I waited almost 2 years for this.

I felt like I was being beaten over the head with the author’s political agenda. The entire plot of good shadow hunter verses bad shadow hunter was obviously a reference to democrats and republicans with the head evil shadow hunter being Trump. It really got old after a while. Entire book was annoying

I read, "The Dark Artifacts" series because I was very interested in Julian and Emma's story. Books one and two were awesome. The final book in the trilogy is okay, but its less about Julian and Emma, and more about polyamorous, and gay relationships, and transgender persons. The underlying story was good, but all the unusual relationships were in the forefront. I felt really strongly that the author was going over board with the relationships and playing to the fad of LBGT .Okay I get it, there are a lot of different types of relationships in the world, and people are good no matter their sexual orientation. Anyway, I liked the book and I hope there is a story coming featuring Kit, Dru, Ash, and Ty.

Some spoilers ahead. Wish I could do half stars, as I'd give this 3.5.I will admit that this was not my favorite book in the series. Some romantic elements felt quite rushed, and I'll probably have to reread the first two books to see if I missed some subtle clues involving a certain love triangle, but I wasn't mad at the resolution, even if it was so drawn out. They're happy! They're not! They cannot be together! They can be together! No problems or side eyes at all? While I would love to believe people are open and understanding, the entire plot of this book is how people aren't open and understanding, so I found their Happy Ever After a little too easy. I certainly appreciated the unique and quite progressive way the characters' relationship was settled instead of using the tired tropes of most love triangles, but I still felt dissatisfied with it overall.To name a book after a character sets a certain expectation. That expectation is that said character will be involved in the story in some important way. That was not the case with this book. I was also a little lost on her motivation. Her mood swings and odd behavior were never addressed, which I would have liked. Was it the resurrection? Was it the torture? Where did her book go? Why did the fey name her so? Why why why and no answers. Maybe I read too fast and missed something.Overall, I liked it, but I found it frustrating and random in more than a few places. I would have appreciated a more satisfying ending, and not just the set up for another series. I also found the idea of everyone just giving up their ancestral home a bit too easy. Maybe that's the best description...After all the strife, all the problems got little bows of perfect endings and very little conflict. The fate of the cohort was especially ludicrous, and yet another "loose end" I assume will be picked up in the next series or so.Much more sexytime in this book, that's for sure.I liked the continuation of more character POVs, but it did make the book the tome it is.I will continue to read Clare's books. The humor was much more prevalent in this book, and Aline was the queen of the snark and I need more of her. I started reading Clare because of the Very Secret Diaries and I hope more of the books will include her humor.

Loving these characters and this world SO much, I have to say I was highly disappointed! Too many characters, too many moving plots...For all her presence and power potential Annabel was utterly wasted as a character! Felt like the complete second half of the book was ripped from Buffy the Vampire and so was not original and disappointing! The ending utterly maddening and the Epilouge worse! Spent so much time setting up characters Dru, Ty, Kit, Ash, for the final series that the problems in this series were resolved unrealistically and cheapened... I LOVED every story in the Ghosts of the Shadowmarket so I will give those characters another chance...

Totally obnoxious.(I am writing this to the author, I hope she reads it!)I cannot believe you hijacked my much anticipated vacation into a beautifully crafted fantastical world and turned into a political commentary! I've been a Christian for 35 years and honestly had not matured in my faith. Mostly because I was busy being a conformist of the world, hiding in plain sight, too scared to live out my faith and be the man God wants me to be. This book is relatable to "that guy". It challenged me to get with the program! To man up and live the life God has for me. I'm still struggling but I have a relevance now that I can relate to my daily walk and other men who work to keep me accountable! Well worth the cost and time to read! I dare you to read this book and then see if you have been honest with yourself or if it's time to Man Up!!!

In todays culture, this helps show how to man up in todays culture in all aspects of life, wether it be church, at home, as a husband, as a father. A must read for any Christian man. The end of each chapter has questions that can be used for personal study or as a small group.

I bought this book as a gift for my Dad because he loves religious reads such as this. This is a no nonsense book that reads in very clear easy to read language. The chapter on Marriage is worth the purchase alone. My Dad and I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have gained valuable insights on the Christian lifestyle. Worth a read for sure!

Pretty solid book. We read it in my small group at church (which this books translates really well for a men's bible study/small group if you are looking for one). I think if you are going to read this book, it is best to do it in a group setting like that and only a chapter or two each week because there is so much to reflect and consider when reading it. It will definitely point out areas in your life that you're being a "sissy"!

What I disliked about the book most was that it reiterated the same points each and every chapter. It failed to expand beyond that and bring in new knowledge. It brought up some good points as well though. It challenges you to step outside you comfort zone and become a disciple for Christ. I picked the kindle version of this book up for $3 I believe? Def worth the read for that price.

A wonderful supplementary study resource, but by no means a primary resource. Before I write too much, I am a junior dev with 2 years of C# under my belt, and failed the 483 exam after reading this with a 679/1000 (need a 700 to pass).The book is formatted in a way that is great for studying the exam. The chapters are relevant to the topics suggested to study on the site and is rich in content and examples. I was able to read the book cover to cover relatively easily in chunks, certainly not a book I would want to power study in 1-2 days.As for the bad, the general portion of the examples have no real world context. Although the code will compile, often the examples have no purpose. Perhaps this is to cut down on the size of each example, but richer examples would definitely help during the learning process. I don't have any specific examples in mind, but I remember the sections with async/await, events, and trace/debug being particularly weak. The end of each chapter has a thought experiment to apply what you have learned, and three questions per chapter to test your knowledge.When I said secondary resource, what I meant is that even at several hundred pages, the book still feels too shallow to have a firm understanding of the language that you would need to pass the exam. It's great for brushing up on topics, or seeing a bit of syntax, but I feel that for the time on the MSDN, or for a similar cost having a pluralsight course for a month and using their path. Once I am done with this exam (hopefully second time is a charm) I will most likely never read this book again.

My job wants me to obtain an MCSD cert and I was looking for the most expedient way to gain the information as an experienced C++ programmer but with limited C# experience. It seems like the book is trying to give me what I need to know for the test and not teach the material.I find the book often confusing and the concepts not well explained. I often have to find videos that explain what the lesson is trying to say. Even as I try to write code to better understand the lesson in the encapsulation section when I try to use some of the get set syntax I get run time exceptions. Many of the examples are not clear and the code is not clear. I a not sure if it is the author or faults of the language that allows this confusing syntax.

I honestly didn't like the book, not enough depth and details. IMO, this book alone as reference won't help you pass, so you'll be better off looking elsewhere to augment your learning if you're new to C sharp. Not a beginner's book to use as reference for the exam.If only I could return this, I would.

While reading this book I enjoyed getting introduced to a lot of features in C# which I didn't try before and I think will help me be more productive. It makes me love C# and .NET more.I don't think this book is for newcomers to C# or new to programming in general.I didn't take the exam yet but I feel this is not enough to pass the exam.While reading this book I did search for the mentioned topics on MSDN and other sources just to be more clear on things and maybe see more examples.Even though I'm not new to programming the book got me confused. The organization of this book is so confusing.So what I did now is I read the book for the first time doing some highlights and notes and then I will do a second read on the topics which needs to be read one more time.

It's good for what it is. It's not "how to learn to code in C# by reading this book from cover to cover exactly in order", nor was it meant to be. It's good for covering the topics you need to cover in the order YOU need to, and as a good reference tool for the subjects it covers. This is the first Microsoft Exam Ref I've ever bought that did not have hands-on practices, but again, practices for the specific items you need help with are available on the Internet, with a little help from Google.

This is one of the worst programming language books I ever bought. Unfortunately there is not much choice if you need a book that covers the 70-483 test. If you don't already know the material, be prepared to read the book in front of your PC so you can research online what the author meant or missed or forgot to explain, whenever needed... which will be a lot of times.

I don't understand why this was recommended for my C# class, as hardly anything is fully explained in this book. If you are already an experienced programmer, it may be useful to you.. maybe. I'm taking an advanced C# class and I haven't even gotten into multi-threading yet and this book just jumps right to it without proper explanations or exercises, leaving me confused.

This book was sort of helpful but there are lots of mistakes and its definately could be better. I went through the book multiple times. This along with lots of pluralsight videos allowed me to pass the certification exam the first time. This book by itself is not nearly enough to pass the test. Supplement it with other sources of information.

About the Author

Robert Maurer, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist on the faculty of the UCLA and the University of Washington Schools of Medicine. This quick 224-page read focuses on one big and valuable idea: Kaizen, which is the Japanese word coined for constant improvement.More specifically, we are talking about incremental improvement - small steps, not big leaps.The author, Robert Maurer, begins by making the case that change does not have to be hard. It can be easy, requiring little time, self-control or discipline - if you take the Kaizen approach.Throughout the book, you are given proof. There are examples from business, fittingly so, as the Kaizen concept was originally introduced as a management principle. But this concept is so universal it applies to every life endeavor, and there are plenty of examples specific to health, weight loss and fitness as well.At first you might think that applying this philosophy simply means taking small action steps. However, Maurer challenges the reader by going deeper and explaining that there are five other ways to apply kaizen. A chapter is devoted to each of these strategies:1. Taking small actions.2. Asking small questions.3. Thinking small thoughts.4. Solving small problems.5. Bestowing small rewards (to yourself or others).6. This is a small idea book with enormous implications. The author explores the ideas of Kaizen, a philosophy that small steps lead to large changes. I appreciate how Mr. Maurer explains the psychology of this, and how making incremental, deliberate steps leads a person to fulfill goals that have often gone unaccomplished. I have begun to implement these concepts into my life and am already seeing the results of this paradigm shift. Isn't it funny how sometimes the problem is just in how we as humans view a problem, and not so much in the problem itself?I highly recommend this book for anyone stuck in the rut of goal failure. Explore the world of Kaizen. The book, like it's philosophy, is not a long read or a complicated concept to grasp. Instead, it is a summary of wisdom that can truly help individuals and organizations develop in healthy ways and bring about important change.

You know what irritates me about self help books? 99.9% of them are BS and I'm including the "works" of some very big names in the field (you know who they are. The same old stuff reworked until it loses any real meaning. I've only read an extremely few that were worth the time and this is one of them. I work in a library and don't recommend any of the self help books we have for the above stated reason, except for this one. It's a small, effective book that gets to the point and keeps going. So, instead of firewalking or paying ridiculous sums to attend "seminars" to listen to what are really sales pitches, try this book. I got tired of checking it out and finally bought my own copy. PS. I won't be attending any seminars by Robert Mauer. His book is enough.

What a great little book. My desk was chronically piled with random papers-- paid bills, advertisements, coupons, things I needed to file, things I had set aside to read later. I could never seem to confront the huge chore. Before I had even finished this book, I put everything in a box, just to get used to having a clean desk top. Then I began dealing with three things a day. Just three. I even let myself pick out the easiest ones first, for instance coupons that had expired and could be trashed. Not only did I empty the box, but I have been able to maintain a clean desk top. And I have begun to apply this principle to other boxes in my closet. After I do my daily three things I reward myself by sitting down to read a book. If it's late enough in the day I also have a glass of wine. I highly recommend this book. It can literally change your life.
